Description
Fileting, also known as netting, is an old, traditional handicraft for creating lace. For this, the Prym product line contains the netting set, which contains all the required tools. It has three rods of varying sizes, two netting needles, and a darning needle. Using the rods and netting needle, a yarn mesh is first created, which is afterwards filled with darning stitches until the desired pattern or image is completed on the lace. Netting lace has long decorated Swiss traditional dresses, although it can also adorn day-to-day objects such as blankets and curtains. The yarn used should not be twined too strongly, so that it doesn’t twist when working.
